The short answer is yes. However, as with all devices connected to the internet (smart TV’s, Alexa’s, computers, phones, etc…) there is some level of inherent risk. One option to keep the miner separate from your home network is to add it to a "guest network". By hosting a hotspot, you can use your pre-existing internet and get paid to provide safe, secure, and reliable wireless coverage to the loT. The hotspot only requires a WiFi connection and a power source. The power usage is similar to a single light bulb. Once installed, the hotspot does not require any further maintenance or attention. You will hardly know it’s there until you receive your rewards!!
If you are not interested in hosting a hotspot yourself, or you are outside of the Bloomington, IL area we are currently targeting, you can also earn referral fees for each qualified referral. There is nearly zero cost. The Hotspot uses a small amount of power, on average roughly 5W at peak. This is less than a standard LED light bulb. In a city like San Francisco, it will cost you roughly $0.48/month
Expected bandwidth utilized by devices is 1-5 kb/s (very little).
In order to provide coverage and receive earnings each hotspot needs to be at least 900 feet apart. Having two or more hotspots in the same house doesn’t provide any additional coverage.
This is why we need hosts (you) to help us spread out the hotspots.
Host earnings can very greatly. Network wide we see similar host setups earning $35-$200 consistently each month for hosting a hotspot. However, earnings vary quite a bit from month to month, and location to location. We share 25% of the earnings with you (and we will also pay 5% on all referrals). The Bloomington area is a "newer" area for helium mining and the earning numbers are estimates only.
No, hotspots need to be 900 feet apart from each other in order to receive maximum earnings and provide new coverage. Encourage nearby friends and neighbors to apply. The stronger the network, the more you earn.
Great question. There are several reasons why this is a better opportunity. First, this miner is not some sort of router that you can run and pickup from Best Buy or Amazon. There are only a few manufactures that work with the Helium Network and they have all been out of stock and back ordered for months. Nozlen’s initial deployment of miners were ordered very early this year. The majority were just delivered in the last several weeks. Current back orders, are showing close to 6 months to be shipped. There is no idea what Helium’s Network will look like 6 months from now. Currently the BloNo area is virgin ground for Helium Miners. Early adapters in various locations globally usually get rewarded better than the last few hundred (or few thousand) miners to be added to a location. The next two weeks are certainly the absolute best time to be involved with a miner in the Bloomington area. This opportunity window is quite small.
The miner is, and always will be property of Nozlen Corp. Our goal is to optimize the earning potential of each miner and location. There are many circumstances and conditions that make mining optimal. We will make suggestions to modify the location of your antenna to enhance it’s range, but unfortunately every location just can’t be profitable. If after 90 days, it’s determined that your location is not profitable, then the miner will be removed from your location. (You may optionally refer a friend or family member for placement and you will be compensated with a 5% override share if we have determined that the miner is not profitable at your location).
There will be options available for payment. You can either be paid in $$ or we can transfer your share of HNT directly into a crypto wallet.
